Greetings, Mustang Nation! We would like to recognize the students who took part in our first ever Massabesic Elementary Unified Basketball Showcase yesterday at WES. Students on Coach P's team battled Coach K's team in a riveting showcase of skills. From the high school volunteers to the elementary helpers and superstar players themselves, teamwork was the highlight of the night. Everyone left with a smile. Thank you to Coach Kendrick and Coach Person for their incredible support of our team!

Yesterday, Massabesic's Elementary Unified Basketball Team met at Waterboro Elementary School for their first practice. Students, coaches, and student helpers introduced themselves to their teammates and went to work learning basketball skills. This six week program is the very first Elementary Unified Basketball Team in the State of Maine!
October was packed with many fun events at WES! Our PTO sponsored an after-school book fair, grade 5 put together an ice cream social, the Waterboro Fire Department came to discuss fire safety, our Instructional Support Network ran a Family Math Game Night, and the PTO put on an eerie-sistible Halloween Stroll. Just a reminder that the PreK and kindergarten bus ride takes place at WES tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. Students will hear from our own bus drivers and have the opportunity to take a ride on the school bus (one caregiver may accompany each student). On Saturday, May 21st, Waterboro Elementary School hosted their Family Dance! Many families came to dance, play, sing, and socialize. It was a fabulous time for all who came; thanks goes out to our PTO for sponsoring this fun night!

Good afternoon,
As you are aware, tomorrow, March 9th, face masks will become optional in RSU 57 schools. All students discussed this in class today and the theme was in line with our theme of the month: diversity. We are all different, and a Model Mustang respects those differences. Just as we respect a student who decides whether or not they will wear a jacket out to recess or choses between boots and sneakers, so we will respect each person's choice to wear or not wear a mask. Please speak to your child(ren) about your wishes as a family and why it is important to help them make the choice you feel is best at school.
Thank you all for everything you have done in these trying times. Your support of our school is so touching and appreciated. Have a wonderful remainder of the week!
